Biomechanics

What is Biomechanics?

Biomechanics is the study of the way your body moves – particularly the feet, legs, knee, hips and lower back. Poor alignment or abnormal foot function can lead to pain and issues not only in the feet but also in the ankles, knees, hips and back.

Common Problems Our Specialist Assess

Plantar Fasciitis

Pain under the heel, especially with first steps in the morning. It is caused by inflammation of the plantar fascia ligament. Often linked to poor foot posture or overuse.

Achilles Tendinopathy

Pain and tightness behind the heel or lower calf. It is a inflammation or degeneration of the Achilles tendon, common in active individuals or those with tight calves.

Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD)

Pain and swelling on the inner side of the foot and ankle, often with a fallen arch. It is a progressive condition where the tendon that supports the arch weakens or tears.

Hallux Limitus/Rigidus

Pain and stiffness in the big toe joint (first MTP joint). It can affect walking and cause joint damage over time. Often linked to arthritis or poor biomechanics.
